Through this policy, communities are granted legal authority to manage certain forest resources as part of efforts to support livelihoods, based on proposals from forest farmer groups. This study aims to evaluate the importance value index (IVI), as well as the diversity, evenness, and species richness at tree, pole, and sapling strata within three land cover types: secondary forest, pine forest, and agroforestry in Hkm Mepokoaso, Baito Village, Baito District. Sampling was conducted purposively in the Mepokoaso Hkm area. The total area reached 525 hectares. From the observations at the research site, 30 plots were determined. Secondary forest 20 plots, pine forest 5 plots, agroforestry 5 plots with the size of 20×20 meter trees, 10x10 meter poles, and 5x5 meter saplings. The results of the IVI calculation show the highest value in each land cover, namely secondary forest, Tectona grandis trees 55.43%, Tectona grandis poles 59.50%, and Acronychia trifoliata saplings 37. 69%. Natural pine forest, Pinus merkusii trees 232.06%, Ficus variegata Blume poles 165.46%, And Ficus variegata Blume saplings 80.67%. Agroforestry, Anacardium occidentale tree 152.16%. Diversity analysis was highest in secondary forest (H’=2.833) and lowest in pine forest (H’=0.426). Evenness was generally high (E=0.82-0.91), except for trees in a pine forest (E=0.39). Species richness was highest for poles in secondary forest (R=6.12) and lowest for trees in pine forest (R=0.69). Poles and saplings were not found in agroforestry. ## Keywords - Species richness - Species evenness - Agroforestry - Forestry - Secondary forest - Geography - Vegetation (pathology) - Species diversity - Forest cover - Disturbance (geology) - Biodiversity - Old-growth forest - Forest management - Ecology - Diversity index - Forest inventory - Woody plant - Forest farming - Land cover - Forest ecology - Environmental science - State forest - Sampling (signal processing) - Silviculture - Clearcutting - Experimental forest - Community structure - Plant community - Protection forest - Basal area --- Sumber: Discover Unhas — RIMS Universitas Hasanuddin.
