Beligo or Bligo is the name of Benincasa hispida (Thunb.) Cogn. in Indonesian, is empirically used in the treatment of cholesterol and hypertension. The part of the plant used is the seed. This have a look at aimed to determine the antihyperlipidemic activity of beligo seeds in L-NAME-induced hyperlipidemic rats. Male albino rats (n= 25) were divided into 5 groups: Sod. CMC 1%, plant extract (100 mg/kg, 200 mg/kg, 300 mg/kg body weight), and Simvastatin were induced by L-NAME 40 mg/kg BW for 4 weeks.
