A limited number of studies have comprehensively analyzed the flow and turbulence structures encompassing a series of groynes in channel bends. This study numerically investigated the interplay between turbulence, sediment deposition, and scouring in a sharp channel bend with permeable groynes. The results show that the inner bank maintained high velocity, while permeable groynes decreased longitudinal velocity near the outer bank. Implementing permeable groynes structures reduced bottom velocity and increased flow separation. Turbulent kinetic energy distribution across the bend, particularly streamwise, influenced scour development more than vertical motion. --- Sumber: Discover Unhas — RIMS Universitas Hasanuddin.
