Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the correlation between doctors-patients' verbal and non-verbal communication and patients' satisfaction in Outpatient Installation of Mother and Child Centre of DR. WAHIDIN SUDIROHUSODO MAKASSAR. The research was a quantitative analysis with cross sectional study using survey method. The sample consisted of the family of child patients Outpatient Installation of Mother and Child Centre of Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital, Makassar. The results of the research indicate that there is a correlation between doctors-patients language verbal communication with patient satisfaction (p=0,000), doctors-patients' haptic nonverbal communication with patients' satisfaction (p=0,000), and doctors-patients' kinesics non• verbal communication with patient satisfaction (p=0,000). Among these three variables, verbal language communication ha a stronger association with patient satisfaction in Mother and Child Centre Outpatient Installation of Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital, Makassar.
