Abstract
Indonesia is one of the 10 yellowfin tuna producing countries in the Indian Ocean. Tuna fish in Indonesian waters exploits throughout the year using various types of fishing gear so that it is suspected that the fish stock condition is experiencing a disruption. This study aims to analyze the condition of yellowfin tuna in the waters of the Gulf of Bone. Fish length data were obtained from fishermen's catch from January to November 2020 using a stratified random method. Stock conditions were analyzed using the scoring method with input variables including size structure, age group, growth rate, mortality and recruitment. The results showed that the catch was predominantly young fish, the percentage of fish eligible to be caught was low, population growth was low, mortality was high, the main cause of death was fishing, the rate of exploitation was high and recruitment was not optimal. The conclusion that biologically, the condition of the yellowfin tuna stock in the Bone Bay waters has decreased or is depressed.
