Spatial pattern and risking factors of tuberculosis disease occurrence in Barru Regency

Abstract

The study was conducted to determine spatial patterns of TB spatially used Geographical Information System (GIS) and detect risk factors of TB diseases occurrence in Barru regency.The study was descriptive analytic survey that created picture or object state description. The study design ued Cross Sectional study design that examined relationship between exposure factor with dependent variable. Besides, this study conducted an observational survey used Geographic Information System (GIS). The sample were 141 samples by use proportional random sampling. The sample selection used purposive sampling technique. The data were processed used excel program and IBM SPSS version 21 and spatial analysis used Arc GIS version 10.1 programme. The study indicated that socio-economic such as worked housewife, low education level, smoking habit and more normal nutrition associated with risk factors of TB diseases occurrence. Besides, the environmental factor such as overcrowding, poor in ventilation, temperature, and lighting had influenced TB diseases occurrence in Barru regency. The TB patterns through overlay analysis of 7 districts namely Barru, Balusu, Soppeng Riaja, Tanete Rilau and Maluusetasi district approching dissemination.
