## Abstract
This article has been retracted: please see Elsevier Policy on Article Withdrawal ( https://www.elsevier.com/about/policies/article-withdrawal ). This article has been retracted at the request of the Editor-in-Chief. The journal was informed that Figure 5 of this article plagiarized Figure 8 of another published article, A Systematic Review of Consumer Perceptions of Smart Packaging Technologies for Food , Front. Sustain. Food Syst., 2020(4), ( https://doi.org/10.3389/fsufs.2020.00063 ). The journal has requested the authors to comment on these allegations, however the authors' explanation did not satisfactorily address the Editor's concerns. Re-use of any data should be appropriately cited. As such this article represents a severe abuse of the scientific publishing system. The scientific community takes a very strong view on this matter and apologies are offered to readers of the journal that this was not detected during the submission process.
