The cause of this reticulohistocytosis is still unknown (it corresponds to group C histiocytosis); however, it can clinically resemble other neoplasms and be sometimes encountered with mild morphological features. Diagnosis and classification are based on an accurate clinicopathological evaluation. From a histological point of view, reticulohistocytoma is a proliferation formed by cytoplasmic histiocytes that are sufficient, eosinophilic, and finely granular, accompanied by multinucleated giant cells and a few lymphocytes. The importance of this neoplasm lies in its histologic similarity to several other diseases. In order to establish a histolopathological differential diagnosis of solitary reticulohistocytoma, it is essential to consider that this neoplasm is benign with an excellent prognosis. In this paper, we reported the case of a 21-year-old male patient with a round lump on the sole of the left foot he had experienced during the last year before presenting to our hospital. Histopathological examination found a solitary reticulohistocytoma. In conclusion, wide excision of the lesion showed clinical improvement without recurrence. ## Keywords - Medicine - Histopathological examination - Differential diagnosis - Pathology - Giant cell - Neoplasm - Lesion - Histiocyte - Foot (prosody) - Physical examination - Dermatology - Anatomy - Radiology --- Sumber: Discover Unhas — RIMS Universitas Hasanuddin.
