BACKGROUND: Bronchiectasis is a chronic and irreversible respiratory condition. Tuberculosis (TB) is considered one of the most common causes of bronchiectasis which has a wide range of manifestations, ranging from simple traction bronchiectasis to clinically significant bronchial disease. The characteristics and clinical manifestations of post-TB bronchiectasis are still poorly described in the literature and their relationship to the type based on radiological features is unknown. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between characteristics, clinical manifestations, severity, and radiological images in post-TB bronchiectasis patients.METHODS: This is an analytical study with a cross-sectional design. The data used is secondary data sourced from medical records of inpatients at RSUP Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo from January 2019 to August 2023.RESULTS: A total of 40 post-TB bronchiectasis patients participated as research samples. Distribution based on the most common characteristics included: male (52.5%), age <70 years (87.5%), normal nutritional status (42.5%), and non-smoker patient (60%). Meanwhile, the most common distribution based on clinical manifestations included symptoms of shortness of breath and cough (47.5%), low forced expiratory volume (FEV1; 55%), low mMRC (72.5%), mild FACED (72.5%), and the most radiological images was cylindrical type (62.5%). Analysis between characteristics, clinical manifestations, and degree of severity with radiological images showed that there was no statistically significant relationship (P>0.05).CONCLUSIONS: It was found that there was no significant relationship between characteristics, clinical manifestations, and the type of radiological picture in post-TB bronchiectasis patients.
