Abstract
Abstract This study aimed to determine the effect of vitamin C dietary supplementation in orange-spotted spinefoot broodstock on the performance quality of the larvae. This study was in the Tiger Shrimp Breeding Installation (IPUW), Barru, South Sulawesi. This study used a completely randomized design with four treatments of vitamin C dosage and two replications. The vitamin C dosage treatments were composed of 0 mg/kg diet (C0), 600 mg/kg diet (C600), 1200 mg/kg diet (C1200), and 1800 mg/kg diet (C1800). Parameters observed in this study were larval performance. These parameters were analyzed using the W-Tukey test. The feeding test for broodstock was performed for 60 days at four-times a day (08:00,11:00,14:00, and 16:00 WIB). The results showed that the dietary supplementation of 1800 mg Vitamin C/kg diet could increase yolk sac diameter at 7.3%, and improve the larval performance of orange-spotted spinefoot well.
