Abstract

Global warming, caused by an increase in the concentration of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, might have a negative impact on agriculture, forestry, and other industries that rely on the natural environment for production. Furthermore, global warming is expected to continue, resulting in the negative impact of high temperatures and the unavoidably associated drought stress on the growth of apricot trees in the following years. The detrimental effects of eliminating irrigation have been demonstrated in apricot trees primarily through a very slight increase in the cross-section areas of the trunks, the loss of some branches, and the inability of numerous branches to generate fruit buds the following year. Additionally, drought stress has been shown to limit growth and carbohydrate accumulation in Japanese apricot trees.
