Expression of emotion in term "pele" used in the interaction among merauke society

Abstract
Abstract A study was conducted with the aims to classify and describe the expression of emotions in term pele used in the interaction among Merauke society. This study is qualitative research that uses descriptive data form oral and written expressions. Sources of data were obtained from (1) native speakers of Merauke society (Marind) and immigrant society (not Marind), (2) written data from status or comments on social media Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram. The results showed expression of emotion in term pele was very varied to be used in interacting, the emotions consist of positive emotions and negative emotions. Positive emotions consist of six expression emotions they are: expressing praise, expressing awe, expressing to hope, expressing seduction, asking, as a joke; and negative emotions consist of ten expression emotions they are: regretting, astonishing, shocking, surprising, feeling offensive, complaining, disappointing, expelling, threatening, angry.
