Abstract

High voltage conductor insulators are absolutely necessary, especially for separating the live parts with other parts, including knowledge of the design, safety and reliability of the insulator, as well as knowledge of the physical and chemical properties of the insulating material which will greatly determine the dielectric properties of the material insulator. With the planning, analysis and development of insulator materials will improve the reliability of the electric power system with its economic value. This study focused on the comparison of leakage current in epoxy resin insulators made from fly ash coal filler with epoxy resin insulator made from rice husk ash filler. The test result shows the value of leakage current of epoxy resin insulator made from fly ash filler of coal compared with the filler of rice husk ash, the test uses voltage variation from 11-15 kV. For the results of the insulator made from fly ash filler leakage current is 0. 1342mA-0.1819mA while for the leakage current on the insulator made from ash husk ash filler is 0.0539mA-0.0651mA.
