Abstract
The aim of this research is to study the influence of sea water on the strength of porous \nconcrete containing Portland Composite cement and micro monofilament polypropylene \nfibre. The specimens of porous concrete were immersed in the sea water up to 28 days. \nThe compressive strength test and flexural strength test were carried out at 3, 7 and 28 \ndays in order to investigate the strength development. The test result indicated that the \nstrength of porous concrete can develop in the sea water. It was revealed that there was \nno appreciable effect of sea water on the hydration process when porous concrete were \nimmersed in the sea water. An excellent bond was established between the cement paste \nand the coarse aggregates, resulting in the good compressive and flexural load bearing \ncapacity of porous concrete.
