Sandfish harvests are one of the largest sea cucumber catches worldwide, and it is an important source of income for marginal fishers in impoverished coastal villages in Southeast Asia. Sandfish is grayish-black on the upper side with dark-colored wrinkles but paler on the underside. This chapter deals with some aspects of sea cucumber farming in Southeast Asia. It includes information on hatchery techniques, growout, beche-de-mer processing, and uses. Although Southeast Asian countries are principal producers of sandfish, a significant body of research has been conducted in other countries, such as Australia and Pacific Islands. The chapter refers to the studies conducted by researchers from Southeast Asian countries and other regions. ## Keywords - Southeast asia - Geography - Sea cucumber - Fishery - Agriculture - Socioeconomics - Biology - Ecology - Archaeology - Ancient history - Economics - History --- Sumber: Discover Unhas — RIMS Universitas Hasanuddin.
