Q4Abstract
The principle of this methotl was using the clipstick. The dipstick contains two horizontal bands; an antiSen band consisting of antigen prepared from S. typhi (lower band) ancl an internal control (upper band). The assay is based on the binding of human salmo- neil specffic IgM antibo4ie.s to the Salmonella specific antigen. Bound IgM antibodies are specificalLy deteced with an anti-hwnan IgM dye co,njugate. The assay is performeil by nnking a I :50 dilution of sera in the detection reagent and incubating a wettecl disptick in rhis solution. Staining oy the aniigin band reveals the presence of salmonella-specific IgM antibodies in the serwn sample The strenght of tlrc staining is important in the interpretation of the test resl,lt. The provitlecl, coloured reference strip is usecl to conlpare the staining inrensity. In,on irsion, this new simpLe methotl (ttipstick) may benefitfor derect the IgM antibodies against S. typhi infectiott on humart without needetl special equipment and skill and can be applied in public heabh care in vilLage level.
