FTIR spectra shows absorption band of hydroxyl group (-OH), methyl group (-CH 3 ) and aromatic group (C-C). The absorption band for aromatic group (C-C) shows the formation of carbonaceous in composites. XRF shows chemical composition of composites, which the main chemicals are SO 3 , Cl, and ZnO. The loss on ignition value (LOI) of activated charcoal indicates high carbonaceous matter. The crystallite size for diffraction pattern from hydrogel polymer is about 17 nm and for activated charcoal are about 19 nm. The crystallite size of the polymer is lower than that of activated charcoal, which make possible of the particle from filler in contact with each other to form continuous conducting polymer through polymer matrix. ## Keywords - Crystallite - Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy - Materials science - Polymer - Composite material - Infrared spectroscopy - Particle size - Spectroscopy - Absorption (acoustics) - Chemical engineering - Chemistry - Organic chemistry - Metallurgy - Engineering - Quantum mechanics - Physics --- Sumber: Discover Unhas — RIMS Universitas Hasanuddin.
