Link budgets are calculated to ensure adequate fade margin. The presence of adjacent conducting material can affect antenna gain and impedance matching. Numerical modeling demonstrates that the gain of a 12 element Yagi-Uda is degraded by more than 2 dB when a human model is located in close proximity to the rear of the antenna. There are similar impedance matching losses. This has a significant effect on link reliability in RFID and wireless sensor networks where power is restricted. ## Keywords - Link budget - Antenna (radio) - Impedance matching - Antenna gain - Electrical impedance - Reliability (semiconductor) - Antenna tuner - Antenna measurement - Antenna factor - Computer science - Dipole antenna - Electronic engineering - Wireless - Electrical engineering - Power (physics) - Telecommunications - Engineering - Physics - Quantum mechanics --- Sumber: Discover Unhas — RIMS Universitas Hasanuddin.
