URL kanonis: https://discover.unhas.ac.id/publications/pub_scopus_105045092894 Jurnal / Konferensi: International Conference on Civil Structural and Transportation Engineering Tahun terbit: 2026 DOI: https://doi.org/10.11159/iccste26.270 ISSN: 23693002 Citations: 0 ## Authors - Fajar M.N. ## Abstract This study investigates the effect of partial and full CFRP confinement on the compressive behavior of concrete cylinders.Four confinement levels were examined: unconfined (0%), and CFRP wrapping over 25%, 50%, and 100% of the specimen height.The 28-day compressive strength, failure modes, and qualitative damage patterns were evaluated for each configuration.The results show that all confinement schemes significantly increase compressive strength relative to the control concrete, confirming the beneficial role of CFRP jackets in providing lateral restraint and mobilising a triaxial stress state in the core concrete.The 50% confinement ratio produced the highest average compressive strength, indicating an optimum level where confinement is concentrated in the critical region while sufficient deformability is maintained outside the wrapped zone.Fully wrapped specimens (100%) still exhibited substantial strength enhancement but failed in a more sudden and brittle manner, whereas the 25% configuration provided only moderate strength gains with failure localised near the unconfined end.The combined analysis of strength and failure patterns demonstrates that the efficiency of CFRP confinement is governed not only by the amount of jacket material, but also by its distribution along the member height, highlighting the potential advantages of region-focused partial wrapping over full-height confinement.. ## Keywords - Materials science - Compressive strength - Composite material - Compression (physics) - Structural engineering - Deformation (meteorology) - Ultimate tensile strength - Yield (engineering) - Ductility (Earth science) - Cylinder --- Sumber: Discover Unhas — RIMS Universitas Hasanuddin.
