## Abstract
This chapter examines Indonesia’s anti-corruption regime, which includes comprehensive legislation prohibiting various forms of corruption but suffers from serious implementation problems. The chapter traces how the once-powerful and independent Corruption Eradication Commission ( Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi , KPK) was undermined during the Joko Widodo administration through legislative amendments that brought it under executive control, and the appointment of a series of problematic leaders. Despite extensive anti-corruption laws and institutions, systemic corruption involving high-ranking officials remains endemic across all branches of government.
