This study aimed to investigate the effects of probiotics, prebiotics, and synbiotics in drinking water on growth performance and organ development in kampung chickens. Eighty one-day old chickens were randomly assigned to four treatments: control, probiotic, prebiotic, and synbiotic. Each treatment had five replicates of five chickens. The chickens were reared for eight weeks with ad libitum feeding. Observed parameters included feed and water intake, weight gain, feed conversion ratio (FCR), carcass weight, small intestine morphology, and liver, spleen, bursa of Fabricius, and thymus weights. Supplementation significantly affected (P<0.05) feed intake, water intake, and FCR, with synbiotic treatment showing the lowest feed consumption and FCR, indicating better efficiency. Synbiotics reduced FCR by approximately 21.7% compared with the control and increased jejunum length and ileum weight. However, no significant effect (P>0.05) was observed on body weight gain, carcass, or other organs. In conclusion, Synbiotics may enhance feed utilization efficiency by improving intestinal morphology and did not negatively affect the development of immune organ weight measured in kampung chickens.
