Statistical analysis included univariate and bivariate tests, with the χ2 test used to determine associations between OA severity, cartilage defects, and ROM. SPSS v29 was used for data analysis, with significance set at P<0.05.RESULTS: A total of 72 patients met the study criteria, with 65.3% being female and 55.6% classified as overweight. Higher OA severity was significantly associated with abnormal knee ROM (P<0.001), with 100% of grade 3 and 4 OA patients exhibiting ROM limitations. Additionally, cartilage defects detected via MRI correlated with ROM impairment (P=0.002), and more severe OA was associated to higher cartilage defect grades (P<0.001).CONCLUSIONS: Radiographic OA severity, cartilage defects on MRI, and knee ROM limitations are significantly associated. As OA severity and cartilage damage increase, ROM limitations become more pronounced. MRI plays a crucial role in evaluating cartilage integrity and its impact on knee function. ## Keywords - Medicine - Osteoarthritis - Cartilage - Radiography - Cartilage damage - Magnetic resonance imaging - Range of motion - Knee Joint - Univariate analysis - Nuclear medicine - Orthodontics - Radiology - Knee cartilage - Statistical significance - Statistical analysis - Arthropathy - Observational study - Tibia --- Sumber: Discover Unhas — RIMS Universitas Hasanuddin.
