Abstract
Abstract This study aimed to formulate a development strategy for beef cattle fattening farming supported by the Energy Equity Epic (Sengkang) in Gilireng District, Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi Province, using a SWOT analysis approach. The farming initiative holds significant potential but still faces internal challenges, such as limited farmer knowledge and low public interest, as well as external challenges, including market competition and minimal government intervention. The analysis revealed that SO, WO, ST, and WT strategies can be implemented to optimize strengths, capitalize on opportunities, minimize weaknesses, and address potential threats. WO and WT strategies are directed toward improving human resource capacity and increasing community awareness, whereas SO and ST strategies focus on utilizing CSR funding, collaborating with academic institutions, and strengthening market competitiveness. With the implementation of well-targeted strategies, this beef cattle fattening farming initiative is expected to enhance productivity, expand market reach, and contribute to national food security.
