These include urinary discomfort, pain, and reduced quality of life. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of tamsulosin (0.4 mg) in reducing bladder mucosal inflammation and improving symptoms following ureteral stent placement.METHODS: A randomized controlled trial study was conducted in patients undergoing routine ureteral stent placement after ureteroscopic lithotripsy (URSL). Participants were divided into two groups: Group A (tamsulosin) and Group B (placebo). Histopathological changes in bladder mucosa, as well as blood and urine samples, were analyzed over 6 weeks.RESULTS: The study included 27 participants (66.7% male, aged 21-67 years). The group treated with tamsulosin (0.4 mg/day) demonstrated significant improvement in urinary symptoms as assessed by the Ureteral Stent Symptoms Questionnaire (USSQ) over 6 weeks.
