Abstract

Abstract This study examines the landslide potential in Masama Sub-district, Banggai Regency, an area frequently affected by landslides. The research aims to map landslide-prone areas using the Storie Index method, which considers parameters such as slope, rainfall, soil type, land use, and elevation. The results identify five categories of landslide vulnerability: very low, low, moderate, high, and very high, covering areas ranging from 263.2771 to 13,274.41 hectares. Overall, Masama Sub-district has a high landslide potential, with high and very high vulnerability concentrated in Minangandala, Simpangan, and Tompotika Makmur villages. Meanwhile, areas with very low to moderate vulnerability include 12 other villages, such as Tangeban, Cemerlang, and Purwo Agung. This research is expected to assist the Banggai Regency government, particularly Masama Sub-district, in disaster mitigation-based spatial planning.
