Abstract
Sericulture is the rearing of silkworms for the production of silk thread which must be supported by the productivity of mulberry leaves. Efforts to improve plant genetics of mulberry need to be carried out in order to increase the genetic variation of mulberry by inducing polyploid plants using colchicine directly in vitro so that better properties are obtained with high productivity. The aim of this study was to obtain the best concentration and soaking time of colchicineagainst polyploid mulberry induction in vitro by analyzing its effect on mulberry morphological characters and the results of the analysis showed that the concentration and soaking time of colchicine used had aneffect on the morphological characters of mulberry induced in vitro.
