Abstract
For the design of many chemical reactors like extractors, bubble columns or aerated bioreactors the determination of the mass transfer rate between the dispersed phase (bubbles, droplets) and the continuous phase is required. The complete interaction of all these effects cannot be considered for engineering applications. Thus, reduced models and characteristic numbers are of high importance. The comparison between analytical and numerical estimations for the asymptotic Sherwood number, Sh∞, is the goal of this paper.
