## Abstract
Abstract One of the factors that affect the quality and quantity of products stored in storage is storage pests from the insect group. Storage pests can grow very fast and have many species with different attack symptoms for each type and cause damage in a relatively short time such as yield loss, reduced yield loss, reduced weight, physical quality, nutritional value of the product, and affect seed germination. Therefore, observations are needed to determine the population and types of insects in storage to facilitate the determination of control techniques. This research was carried out in two stages the first stage Observation of storage pests populations in several storage warehouses, The second stage of storage pest identification. Results showed that Maritengngae district had the highest insect population of 695 individuals, with Rhyzopertha dominica as the dominant species and the highest population in all four districts on average: 197 individuals. The insect population density differed significantly between large-scale storage facilities 280.50 individuals and medium-scale storage facilities 297.25 individuals, in contrast, the identification results showed that the insect species found included Sitophilus zeamais, Tribolium castaneum, Cryptolestes ferrugineus, Cryptolestes pusillus, Cryptolestes pusilloides, and Rhyzopertha dominica.
