Abstract
Weight is a very decisive factor in Vannamei shrimp cultivation, especially in determining the amount of feed. In order to accurately calculate the feed used in Vannamei shrimp cultivation, the weight of the shrimp must be known. So far, Vannamei shrimp cultivators, especially those who still use traditional cultivation methods, rely more on their senses and expertise to determine the weight of Vannamei shrimp. This has no scientific basis and has the potential to harm farmers. This research aims to develop a system based on image processing to assist cultivators in determining the weight of Vannamei shrimp. Based on the number of pixels of Vannamei shrimp in the image captured by the camera, this system estimates the weight of the Vannamei shrimp. The Microsoft Windows 11 22H2 operating system has been used to evaluate this system solution. In this experiment, the weight of Vannamei shrimp was estimated using a computer, and the results were compared to the actual weight measured directly on scales. According to research findings, this system offers a high level of accuracy. The average absolute error rate for Vannamei shrimp weight, which is almost 0.5 grams, is a testament to this. Vannamei shrimp farmers can benefit significantly from this system.
