Q3Abstract
Patommo Landfill is a final waste processing site located in Patommo Hamlet, Arawa District, Wattang Pulu District, Sidenreng Rappang Regency. Patommo Landfill has a Leachate Treatment Plant (LTP) that functions as a leachate processing facility. However, the technology used in the LTP is still conventional. The installation is only a settling pond, which only relies on physical processes or gravity. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the existing conditions of leachate quality, leachate quantity, and LTP design, followed by comparing them with leachate quality standards based on the Regulation of the Ministery of Environment and Forestry No. 59/2016 and the Regulation of the Ministery of Public Works No. 3/2013 concerning the design criteria for waste management facilities and infrastructure. The methods used include grab sampling, laboratory tests, mathematical analysis, hydrological analysis, and descriptive analysis. The evaluation results of the Patommo Landfill Leachate Treatment Plant showed that the results were not yet effective in meeting leachate quality standards, especially for the BOD, COD, and total N parameters. However, the pH, Hg, and Cd parameters met the established quality standards. The hydraulic load in pond 4 did not meet the design criteria of 6.92 m³/m²/day, while the capacity of the leachate treatment plant was still able to accommodate 4,332,136 m³ of leachate.
