The entry of PLTA Poso 2 with power capacity 3×65MW into the power system of south of West Sulawesi (Sulselbar) through the GI Palopo, then the system of SulselBar is in a state surplus of power and develop into a sulselBarTeng (south western and central Sulawesi) system. This situation makes PLN as a manufacturer of electric energy, optimizing the operation of the plant in the system, where plants with fuel largely deactivated and plants with low operating costs in maximized Plant operation optimization policy, of course, would affect the distribution of power in certain plants with a fairly long distance line, so that power losses in line and voltage drop on certain buses can not be avoided. This research analyzes the performance of interonnection system of SulselBarTeng by placing a unified power flow controller (UPFC) on one of the transmission line, where the analysis method is done through simulation using NEPLAN software. Simulation results are obtained without UPFC showed reactive power losses are very large, the voltage drop occurs on the bus latuppa (28) 275 kV.
