The use of chemotherapy is increasingly widespread for various types of cancer and can increase patient survival rates. Chemotherapy halts the growth of tumors by shutting down their ability to divide and forcing apoptosis, however, its use often has side effects. Chemotherapy is known to produce cytotoxic effects on all eye compartments, including the adnexa, anterior segment, and posterior segment, as well as neuro-ophthalmic disorders. In Indonesia, studies of the ocular side effects of cancer treatment are very limited, hence this research aims to understand eye disorders as a complication of chemotherapy. The research design used was a traditional literature review with a focus on topics or variables relating to ocular side effects in patients undergoing initial chemotherapy. A review of ten studies found that chemotherapy causes changes in anterior and posterior eye anatomy and retinal function. One of the chemotherapeutic agents that plays a major role in eye complications is cisplatin. ## Keywords - Chemotherapy - Medicine - Surgery --- Sumber: Discover Unhas — RIMS Universitas Hasanuddin.
