Effective monitoring and management during chemotherapy are crucial for improving patient outcomes. The IM-Chemo web-based application was developed to enhance chemotherapy adherence, facilitate real-time symptom tracking, and improve communication between patients and healthcare providers.METHODS: A cohort study was conducted involving 60 breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital. Participants were randomly divided into an intervention group using the IM-Chemo application and a control group receiving standard care. Data were collected on treatment adherence, side effect reporting, and communication quality over six chemotherapy cycles. Statistical analysis included descriptive statistics, Chi-square Tests, and Kaplan-Meier survival analysis.RESULTS: The IM-Chemo group demonstrated significantly higher adherence rates (92.5%) compared to the control group (67.8%, P<0.05). Patients in the intervention group reported side effects earlier, leading to faster medical interventions and a reduced occurrence of severe complications. Communication efficiency was improved by 30%, with shorter response times and higher patient satisfaction. Kaplan-Meier analysis suggested a trend toward improved progression-free survival in the IM-Chemo group, though the difference was not statistically significant (P=0.08).CONCLUSIONS: The IM-Chemo application effectively enhances chemotherapy adherence, supports early side effect detection, and improves communication between patients and healthcare providers. While short-term benefits are evident, further research is required to evaluate long-term outcomes and the integration of such digital health solutions into routine clinical practice. ## Keywords - Medicine - Breast cancer - Oncology - Internal medicine - Cancer --- Sumber: Discover Unhas — RIMS Universitas Hasanuddin.
