Abstract
This study aims to develop the micro hydro power plant (MHPP) frequency control system from reference data on the use of Electronic Load Controllers (ELC) through the Hysteresis Current Control (HCC) method by utilizing a battery energy storage system (BESS) so that the stability of the electric power system is maintained and more efficient. The proposed control model was simulated in Simulink’s MATLAB program using a combination of artificial and fuzzy neural networks in the Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) and using pure Artificial Neural Network (ANN) control as a comparison to the Proportional Integral (PI) control model. Simulation results show that ELC can pass unused power on the consumer side to battery energy storage so that it can be reused for other loads while keeping the frequency constant. The controller has also been successfully developed to improve the micro hydro power plant (MHPP) system and make it more efficient.
