Correlation between life style and dyslipidemia of teacher secondary school with central obesity in Makassar City 2016

Abstract
The aim of this study to determine on dyslipidemia incidence in secondary school teachers in Makassar city, where the teacher had high welfare level. The study was a cross sectional study with 151 teachers as subjects obtained used simple random sampling method. The total cholesterol was measured used CHOP-POD method (cholesterol oxidize), high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) used Homogeneous Enzymatic Colorimetric method, and triglyceride also used Homogeneous Colorimetric method, physical activity used Short International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), stress level used Depression Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS), and food frequency used food frequency questionnaire (FFQS). The data were analyzed by used chi-square and mean different used independent T test, mean Whitney, Kruskal Wallis, and one way Anova statistical tests. There was no significant between smoking status, physical activity and stress status with total cholesterol, triglycerides. LDL and HDL level in secondary school teachers with central obesity. In additions, there was no significant relationship between carbohydrate consumption patterns with total cholesterol, triglycerides and LDL level in secondary school teachers with central obesity. Meanwhile, there was a significant relationship in carbohydrate consumption patterns with HDL level in secondary school teachers with central obesity. Besides, the fat, vegetables and fruit consumption pattern had no significant relationship with total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL and HDL level in secondary school teachers with central obesity.
