Abstract
Regional developments which are in line with developments continue to increase so that material requirements for development also increase. Construction in developing areas still uses concrete as a construction material. Therefore, the need for concrete material is very high, so it is necessary to explore new places for material collection. This study aims to determine the physical characteristics of the fine aggregate of the Binang River Sand used in the concrete mixture, and to find out how much the variation of the Normal Concrete Compressive Strength using the Binang River Sand. The sample form of cylindrical specimens was 27 samples. The research methodology used is experimental. Where, experimental research is research conducted by manipulating and deliberately controlling the object of research. From the results of the variation in the compressive strength of normal concrete with the quality of F’c 15 MPa, it was found at 3 days of age 9.2 MPa, at 7 days of 11.5 MPa, and at 28 days of age 15.9 MPa. Meanwhile, the quality of F’c 25 MPa was obtained at 3 days of age of 12.2 MPa, at 7 days of age of 19.0 MPa, and at the age of 28 days of 23.7 MPa. And the quality of F’c 30 MPa is obtained at the age of 3 days of 15.3 MPa, at the age of 7 days of 20.3 MPa, and at the age of 28 days of 24.9 MPa. From the data above, it can be concluded that sand originating from the Binang River, Boeara Village, Poleang District, Bombana District can only be used to build residential houses, concrete floor plates for warehouses, offices, futsal fields, badminton courts, multipurpose buildings, pedestrians, and projects of small scale construction on a small street.
