The strong correspondence between histopathological and transcriptional biomarkers demonstrates that this species is highly sensitive to styrene toxicity and suitable for ecotoxicological monitoring. Findings highlight the need for environmental surveillance of industrial pollutants in tropical freshwater systems. ## Keywords - Aryl hydrocarbon receptor - Styrene - Environmental toxicology - Toxicity - Chemistry - Sentinel species - Pharmacology - Oxidative stress - Biology - Lethality - Pollutant - Acute toxicity - Biomarker - Transcription factor - Toxicology - Molecular biomarkers - Medicine - Risk factor - Occupational exposure - Air pollutants - Immunology - Cancer research --- Sumber: Discover Unhas — RIMS Universitas Hasanuddin.
