Cardiovascular rehabilitation including physical exercise is recommended as a therapeutic option for heart failure management but faces challenges in clinical implementation due to barriers such as distance, cost, and patient health limitations. Telerehabilitation has emerged as an alternative avenue. This study aimed to investigate differences in echocardiographic parameters related to left ventricular diastolic function among heart failure patients with low ejection fraction participating in either hospital-based or home-based exercise programs.METHODS: This experimental study compared two groups: an intervention group (N.=16) receiving tele-exercise and a control group (N.=15) undergoing exercise training at the hospital. The differences between the two groups were analyzed using independent t-tests, with significance set at P<0.05.RESULTS: Following the 6-week exercise program, both groups showed improvements in echocardiographic parameters, specifically in the mitral E/A ratio and E/e’ ratio, indicating enhanced left ventricular filling rate and reduced pressure during the diastole phase. There were no significant alterations in left atrial volume index parameters in either exercise group.CONCLUSIONS: Both hospital-based and home-based exercise programs demonstrated similar improvements in echocardiographic parameters of left ventricular diastolic function, indicating that the home-based program is as effective as the hospital-based program. ## Keywords - Diastolic function - Randomized controlled trial - Medicine - Ventricular function - Cardiology - Diastole - Training (meteorology) - Internal medicine - Physical therapy - Physical medicine and rehabilitation - Blood pressure - Physics - Meteorology --- Sumber: Discover Unhas — RIMS Universitas Hasanuddin.
